Welcome to our homepage
Sultan Theatre Group is a self funded theatrical group that puts on two excellent shows a year. The first show is in the spring which serves as our annual entry to the RNTA Drama Festival and the second provides the end of year fun in our seasonal Pantomime. All performances are conducted at Brunel Theatre, HMS Sultan, Gosport.
We are currently celebrating six very successful performances of the musical comedy ‘A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum.’ During the performances from 26 until 31 March over 650 people came to see one of the 6 performances. The cast and crew put in a lot of hard work and the RNTA festival adjudicator Mr Chris Jaeger went away with a lot of positive comments about the performance.” The story followed the exploits of a Roman slave attempting to set his young master up with a beautiful virgin courtesan and win his own freedom in the bargain, whilst overcoming all the obstacles in his path, some of the more noteable ones being a lecherous father, a bumbling old man and a hysterical chief slave. |

Cast & Crew from A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum Thankfully it all turned out alright in the end with boy and girl finding true love and the slaves managing to survive various catastrophes. We also managed to raise an amazing £320 through kind donations for programmes and sales of wrist bands for HELP for HEROES. The group consists of a mixture of multi-talented performers and back stage crew taken from a wide variety of RN serving members, MOD civil servants, friends, family, civilians and children from within the local area. Although we are amateurs volunteering our free time, we aim to produce professional stage performances to entertain the general public.
